hanoi workshop
On the 23rd of December I will be teaching a Contact Improvisation worshop in Hanoi, at Apsara Studio.

Open to all level of skills: you just need desire to experiment, learn, try something new and strange.
The workshop will cover the basics, and see the different aspects of contact improvisation: partnering, giving weight, leading, following, rolling, carrying.
Some solo work, some ground work, a lot of partner work; the moment of contact will be built slowly.

Q: How does it affect if I dont have any dancing skill but interest in moving and music?
A: It is open to people with no dancing but interest in moving/trying out new things. (That was me some years ago, actually).
The point of this form of movement is discovering, exploring, improvising (and also have fun). That can be done at any level.
Q: Do you think we can make a performance with all CI practitioners in Hanoi later?
A: CI is not always very good for performing; it can be beautiful, and it can be horrible. The idea I am working on is to have, beside the classes, a regular (weekly I think) meeting of dancers and musicians (and probably actors), to experiment, move, try out new things. In case it works really well (I mean, it looks good and not only feels good), we could find a venue to do it as a performance.
So: yes, we will perform. I am not sure if in public :-)
